Maura Higgins tipped for major TV gig after I’m A Celebrity success

Sophie Collins

Maura Higgins is making waves once again, with speculation mounting that the Longford native could soon become a presenter on ITV’s breakfast show, This Morning.

The 34-year-old first captured the public’s attention as a bombshell contestant on Love Island in 2019 and has since become a household name.

Fans recently enjoyed watching Maura bring her signature charm and wit to I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here, where she made it to fifth place after entering the jungle as a late arrival.

During her time in the jungle, Maura formed an unexpected bond with Reverend Richard Coles, took on a gruelling eating challenge, and delivered plenty of her iconic one-liners.

Her return to television has reignited calls for her to take on more regular presenting roles.

According to bookies, Maura is a strong contender for a hosting spot on ITV’s This Morning, currently fronted by presenters including Alison Hammond, Dermot O’Leary, and Craig Doyle.

With odds set at evens, fans are eager to see her bring her gas personality to the popular breakfast show.

Maura is also in the running to join ITV’s Loose Women panel, where former I’m A Celeb campmates Jane Moore and GK Barry are regular contributors.

Bookies place her at 13/8 to land a permanent role on the show.

Adding to the buzz, there’s speculation that Maura could take over as host of Love Island if Maya Jama decides to step down after the 2025 summer season.

A source revealed that Maya is considering moving on to other opportunities, leaving a potential opening for Maura.

“Maura is building up her skills as a presenter and would be a perfect fit for Love Islandgiven her history with the show,” a source told The Sun.

Maura is no stranger to hosting; she recently fronted Love Island USA Aftersun, interviewing eliminated contestants and celebrity guests.

She’s also hosted Glow Up Ireland on RTÉ and had her own ITV2 series, Maura Higgins: You’re Joking Me, in 2020.

Whatever her next move, we’re most certainly going to be following along!
