“The One Where We Lost A Friend”
Actor Matthew Perry was laid to rest at a private service in Los Angeles, California, last night, according to US media reports.
The sad news of his passing broke last week after the ‘Friends’ star was found unresponsive at his LA home in his hot tub.
All five of his co-stars from the 1990s hit sitcom, including Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer, are said to have been in attendance at the service at Forest Lawn Cemetery, near Warner Bros. Studios, alongside Perry’s family.
TMZ reports that, in all, around 20 people dressed in black gathered at the ceremony for the actor’s burial.
His five surviving ‘Friends’ castmates paid tribute to their friend on Monday in a joint message expressing their grief, describing the 54-year-old’s death as an ‘unfathomable loss.’
Perry’s cause of death has not been confirmed after an inconclusive post-mortem examination, and officials are awaiting the results of toxicology tests, according to the BBC.
Perry was best known for playing the lovable, funny, and wise-cracking Chandler Bing on ‘Friends’ from 1994 to 2004.
In the aftermath of his death, there has been an outpouring of tributes from fans, loved ones, and co-stars throughout Perry’s career.
This absolutely nails the reason people who’ve never met Matthew Perry are feeling such a huge sense of loss and heartbreak over his death 💔 #MatthewPerry pic.twitter.com/9yxDqPIlXT
