Lizzo reveals she used Ozempic at the start of her weight-loss journey

Lizzo opened up about her weight-loss journey

Though shutting down the allegations previously, Lizzo recently appeared on the Just Trish Podcast, where she confirmed she used Ozempic.

She told podcast host Trisha Paytas she started taking Ozempic in 2023 at the start of her journey.

However, she later found that in the end, the drug wouldn't help her in the long run, and instead decided to count calories to lose weight:

"I tried everything. Ozempic works because you eat less food, yeah? So if you eat right, it makes you feel full, but if you can just do that on your own and get mind over matter, it's the same thing."

"It’s just the science for me, calories in versus calories out," she added.

Lizzo shared that changing her workout routine and stepping away from a vegan and plant-based diet helped her weight-loss journey:

"When I was vegan, I was consuming a lot of fake meats, and I was eating a lot of bread.

"I was eating a lot of rice, and I had to eat a lot of it to stay full, but really I was consuming like 3,000 - 5,000 calories a day."

Lizzo also importantly notes that she isn't too keen on sharing her weight-loss journey, as everyone's body is different:

"I don’t like to tell people too much about losing weight, like what I did, because I don’t want people to do what I did, and it doesn’t work for them. Everybody’s body is different."

Although the artist did stop taking Ozempic at the start of her weight-loss journey, Lizzo said that taking Ozempic is not a sign of "cheating" and can be helpful:

"It's not easy. It's a drug to help somebody with something they're struggling with."
