Earlier in the week fans went into hysteria when Katy Perry registered a song titled 1984.
Twitter exploded with speculation that the song title is a not-so-subtle play on Taylor’s album 1989 – a move fans thought marked an official throwdown.
Taylor’s Bad Blood video is widely reported to be based on the pair’s ongoing feud.
It is now reported that Katy is going to use her five extra years of wisdom to create a full blown video retaliation that will make Bad Blood look like child’s play.
A source reportedly told Hollywood Life: “1984 is without question a diss track.
“(It) will be the rebuttal to Bad Blood – the jabs are very subtle but will definitely sting.”
Katy reportedly referred to Taylor as the “Regina George” of the music biz.
The site reports that the 1984 video is still in “idea mode” but looks set to feature cameos from some of Katy’s A-list pals in a similar manner to her Last Friday Night video which starred Kevin McHale and the Hanson boys among others.
The source added: “Katy is not going to copy Taylor but she will definitely get her payback.”
Miaow.
