Kanye West’s ‘Famous’ lyrics were initially even more offensive to Taylor Swift

This is awful.

A few months ago Kanye West made headlines for his controversial song ‘Famous’ and the video that came with it.

It received a lot of attention, particularly because of his reference to Taylor Swift.

The public version of this verse in the song said:

“For all my Southside n****s that know me best / I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex / I made that bitch famous.”

After this was released there was a hugely public row over whether Taylor ever gave the rapper permission to use her name in the song.

However, Kanye’s wife Kim posted a video conversation of Taylor agreeing to be named in the song, although she claimed she never allowed him to call her a bitch.

And while she may have been offended by the released verse. Billboard reports that the demo was leaked. The original demo was a lot worse, and what he initially said about Taylor Swift is horrendous.

“I feel like Taylor Swift still owe me sex/ I made that bitch famous,”

In the original version, he also referenced his ex-girlfriend Amber Rose with a similar line.

“I feel like Amber Rose still owe me sex/ Why? I made that bitch famous/ Not really, but somewhat famous.”

Neither of these lines are in any way appropriate and no one should ever owe another person sex. We’re glad it was later changed but it’s still an incredibly offensive line to have in a song.
