The comes days ahead of the release of Britney Spears' tell-all memoir.

A now-resurfaced interview from 2006 further pushes Timberlake, 42, into the spotlight, as the article quotes the *NSYNC member discussing the idea of writing about his former flame.

A fan account on X (formerly Twitter) has brought the interview between him and journalist Robert Haskell back into circulation, and in it Timberlake, many believe, seems to convey a negative tone when talking about Spears, 41.

"I dated Britney half my life but I don’t know that person anymore. I’m not sure I knew her before,” Timberlake told Haskell in a 2006 profile.

"If I was writing an article about [Britney], I would not be able to fight the urge to write every dirty thing about her," he added.

“I don't know that person anymore. I'm not sure I knew her before."

This, however, is not the first resurfaced interview where Timberlake has faced backlash for his commentary of her ex-girlfriend.

In 2003, the Friends With Benefits actor appeared on 20/20 with Barbara Walters, who probed him on whether or not had 'kept her promise to wait [to have sex] until marriage'.

In response to the question, Timberlake started to laugh.

This response came the same year as the release of his song, 'Cry Me A River' which many led to public speculation as to if there was an infidelity on Spears' end, as the woman to feature in the music video had resemblance to the Everytime singer.

However, Spears, in her tell-all, admits to being unfaithful, with sources telling US Magazine that she writes about sharing a kiss with dancer and choreographer Wade Robson while she was committed to Timberlake, but the former couple 'agreed to move past' it.

The upcoming memoir sees Spears reveal that her ex-boyfriend cheated on her 'a couple of times' and that he also cheated with a celebrity, who she chose not to name due to now having a family.

She also bravely opened up about the experience of having an abortion after falling pregnant with Timberlake's baby.

In The Woman in Me hits shelves on October 24th.
