Johnny Depp supporters petition for Amber Heard to be dropped from Aquaman 2

Depp was dropped from the Fantastic Beasts franchise last week.

Johnny Depp supporters have launched a petition asking for Amber Heard to be removed from Aquaman 2. The petition, which has since garnered over one million signatures, has claimed that Heard should be asked to resign from her upcoming project since Depp was asked to leave the Fantastic Beasts franchise after losing his libel case against The Sun. Depp, who played Gellert Grindelwald in the series, announced that he had resigned from the film last week, stating: "My resolve remains strong and I intend to prove that the allegations against me are false. My life and career will not be defined by this moment in time." Depp will still be paid his full salary for the movie.  The Change.org petition that has since appeared online makes several claims against Heard, and asks that she also be dropped from her upcoming project. Heard and Depp married in 2015, with the Aquaman actor filing for divorce one year later. Depp has since taken legal action against The Sun, who referred to him as a "wife beater", and lost. He has also sued Heard for defamation following an article she wrote for the Washington Post about sexual violence. Depp has repeatedly denied violence against his ex-wife, but admitted to using drugs and "trashing" hotel rooms. Heard’s former personal assistant has also accused Heard of "stealing" her sexual assault story and [twisting] it into her own story to benefit herself."
