Reports claim that the wife of British singer, James Morrison, has passed away.

According to reports, Gill Catchpole was found dead at the couple’s Gloucestershire home on Friday (January 5th).

The couple shared two children together, Elsie, 15, and Ada Rose, 5.

A friend of the family revealed to The Sun that there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death and that Morrison is surrounded by family and friends.

“Gill was found dead on Friday at the family’s home in Whitminster. James is devastated and is being supported by his family,” the source told the outlet.

“He is holding it together for their girls but has asked for the family to be left alone to grieve in private.”

Before her death, Catchpole ran a café called ‘Cotswold Sandwich Box’ in the village where the family lived, which was closed on Saturday with police cars seen around the premises.

According to the outlet, locals have described Morrison and Catchpole as a ‘lovely couple’.

“The whole village is in complete shock at what has happened. Gill was a lovely woman and they were a beautiful family,” one local said.

The tragic passing of Morrison’s wife comes after he lost his dad, brother, and nephew all in the space of three years.

In 2019, he revealed his album ‘You’re Stronger Than You Know’ was inspired by his wife after their daughter Ada was born 13 weeks premature.

“The album title is for Gill as she’s been through so much as a woman and a mum knowing we could lose the baby at any point.”
