On December 21st former Coronation Street star and one-time pop artist Adam Rickitt said “I do” to partner Katy Fawcett, a reporter with Good Morning Britain on ITV.
Now, the first images of the couple’s big day have emerged, published in the latest issue of OK! magazine.
Rickitt, 35, shot to fame playing Nick Tisley in Manchester-based soap Coronation Street until 2004, told the magazine that he knew he wanted to marry Katy from the day he me her, but that she had a rule about dating for a year before becoming engaged.
He said: “I called my mum that night and said: ‘I’ve met the girl I’m going to marry’.”
“For our second date, she met my family! I’d have proposed to her the day I met her but Katy had this rule that you can’t get engaged until you’ve been going out for a year.”
Katy, who wore a Stephanie Allin lace gown for the romantic ceremony, said of the big day: “Adam laid his soul completely bare and I was so desperate to kiss him that the registrar had to tell me off! I felt so full of love and emotion, I cried quite a lot.”
The couple are currently honeymooning in Thailand.
