Cheryl Fernandez-Versini has opened up about her whirlwind marriage to Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini.
The X Factor judge told OK! magazine that she knew what she was doing when she decided to tie the knot for the second time.
“It was my heart and my head,” she explained. “I’m not an 18-year-old, I’m a 31-year-old woman and I know what I’m doing. I’m doing what makes me happy and that is what is right for me.”
Cheryl added that she is in a good place now but is grateful for all of the things she has had to deal with in recent years: “I’m just really happy.
“I feel confident. I feel sure of myself. I feel like I’m in such a good place. And yes I did go through it but now I can say I’m actually glad I had it so tough because it’s made me become who I am now and it’s made me so much stronger.
“None of what I’ve been through has broken me. It actually taught me everything I’m going to need for the rest of my life. I love feeling that I’m strong.”
