Francis Brennan’s mother has passed away at the age of 97

The lovely Maura Brennan, mother of John Brennan and Francis Brennan, has passed away at the age of 97. She passed away in her native Sligo this morning, surrounded by family. Maura is survived by John and Francis, along with her three other children Damien, Susan and Kate. Reminiscing on his life as a child, Francis Brennan recalled his father owning a grocery shop in Dublin: “He worked very hard. Mum looked after us and we had a very happy house. Balally Drive was a small cul-de-sac of 47 semi-detached bungalows built in the 50s." "At that time it was very much on the outskirts of Dublin, surrounded by fields, cows and woods. It was a community where friendships grew and lifelong family ties were made." When Maura’s husband, the late Tom Brennan, developed ill health, the Brennan family moved to Sligo, back to Maura’s family farm. That was over 40 years ago and Maura lived there since, overlooking Lough Gill. May she rest in peace.
