Former Soap Star Claire Sweeney Welcomes Baby Boy

Former Brookside star Claire Sweeney has welcomed her first child, a baby boy.

According to the Liverpool Echo, the actress gave birth to her son via Caesarean section at Liverpool Women’s Hospital.

Claire, who suffered two miscarriages in the last two years, took to Twitter on Sunday to express her excitement about becoming a mother. She wrote: “Less than 24 hrs till I meet my little man! [sic]”.

The actress has given birth to a baby boy.

As yet, no other details about the new arrival have been revealed however the 43-year-old did say during her pregnancy that she was planning to call her boy Gabriel.

She told OK! magazine: “I love being pregnant – it just feels exactly the right time in my life.

“I’m having a boy and I’m calling him Gabriel because he’s my little angel sent from heaven… I thought it was a beautiful name but I might see him and decide on something else”.

Eariler this year, Claire and her fiancé Daniel Riley called time on their relationship. At the time, she said: “It was all very amicable, we’re still friends and it’s great that he wants to be involved with the baby… Who knows what the future holds?”
