After receiving thrests of boycott and numerous complaints, the showbiz magazine OK! has apologised.
The Internet exploded with rage over the magazine’s front cover which featured the Duchess of Cambridge’s “post-baby weight-loss regime” and an exclusive interview with her trainer less than two days after she had given birth to Prince George.
Floods of women came out and voiced their disgust online about the “vile” cover on the magazine’s Facebook page and even suggested boycotting the issue. We at Her.ie were also shocked about the story.
The cover was removed as the magazine’s profile image on Facebook.
A spokesperson from OK! Magazine has since issued the following apology:
Kate is one of the great beauties of our age and OK! readers love her. Like the rest of the world, we were very moved by her radiance as she and William introduced the Prince of Cambridge to the world.
We would not dream of being critical of her appearance. If this was misunderstood because of our cover it was not intended.
