Elton John’s mother dies… just months after she and her son reconciled

Elton John's beloved mother, Sheila, has passed away at the age of 92.

Ms Farebrother and her musician son did not speak for many years, but had more recently reconciled their differences and were back in touch.

On Monday, 70-year-old Elton posted a photo of duo together, writing: "So sad to say that my mother passed away this morning.

"I only saw her last Monday and I am in shock. Travel safe Mum. Thank-you for everything. I will miss you so much. Love, Elton."

He and Sheila fell out in 2008 and she later claimed that her son's husband, David Furnish, had attempted to take control of Elton's life.

She furthermore claimed Elton never told her when his sons Elijah and Zachary were born.

However, the superstar entertainer continued to support his mother financially and following her milestone 90th birthday two years ago, the pair worked on their relationship. Elton confirmed earlier this year that the pair were very much back in touch.
