Ellie Goulding has just announced her engagement in the most old-school way

Ellie Goulding is getting married!

We never even realised she had a boyfriend but she and other half Caspar Jopling have announced that they're engaged. The couple took an old-fashioned option to share their happy news with the world by publishing an engagement announcement in the Births, Marriages and Deaths section of The Times newspaper today.

"Mr C.W.F. Jopling and Miss E.J. Goulding," it read. "The engagement is announced between Caspar, son of The Hon Nicholas Jopling of Yorkshire and Mrs Jayne Warde-Aldam of Yorkshire, and Elena, daughter of Mr Arthur Goulding of Hertfordshire and Mrs Tracey Sumner of West Midlands."

They used Ellie's real name Elena in the announcement in the hopes that fans wouldn't pick up on the news straight away. "The couple wanted to tell friends and family first and people won't notice because her name is Elena," a source told The Sun. "She's over the moon and has never felt so happy." Ellie and art dealer Caspar have kept their romance pretty much out of the public eye since getting together 18 months ago. The couple reportedly live between London and New York. Ellie has previously dated McFly's Dougie Poynter and BBC Radio 1 host Greg James. She's also been linked with the likes of Ed Sheeran, Niall Horan and even Prince Harry in the past.
