Dolly Parton and Miley Cyrus are the dream duo.
Dolly Parton has hung up her cowboy hat in favour of a trip to the more rock ‘n’ roll side of things with a little help from her goddaughter Miley Cyrus.
The two have released a cover of Miley’s hit song ‘Wrecking Ball’ to promote her upcoming album ‘Rockstar’ marking the country legend’s venture into a new genre.
Though it is a cover, the duo decided to put a new twist on it that mega fans of Dolly are sure to appreciate.
The new version of the song opens with just a stripped-back piano to accompany the 77-year-old’s soft yet husky vocals before Miley joins her on the first chorus.

Then her goddaughter takes the lead on the second verse as electric guitars kick in, and it becomes evident how the song fits on Dolly’s rock album.
At the end of the track, instead of singing the lyrics “I will always want you,” it transitions into “I will always love you,” in a nod to Dolly’s song that Whitney Houston made famous in the movie ‘The Bodyguard’.
To promote her new single, the Queen of Country shared a black-and-white snap of herself and Miley dolled up and looking like rockstars.
While the Tennessee native’s decision to go genre-hopping might come as a surprise to many, after 44 Top 10 country albums, a record for any artist, it seems the singer just wants to have fun.
Miley is just one of many rockstars to be featured on Dolly’s new album as she has teamed up with Rob Halford of Judas Priest, Nikki Sixx and John Five of Motley Crue, Sting, John Fogerty, Stevie Nicks and Richie Sambora, formerly of Bon Jovi just to name a few.
