David Beckham is ‘desperate to make amends’ with son Brooklyn
On Saturday, David Beckham celebrated his 50th birthday in Notting Hill. Many guests attended the party, but two noteworthy guests did not… his son, Brooklyn, and his wife, Nicola Peltz.
But what exactly happened, what led to this, and why is the famous family feuding?
Family Feuds
Brooklyn Beckham and his wife, Nicola Peltz, have a history of tension with David and Victoria Beckham.
According to TMZ, tensions arose as Nicola doesn’t “appreciate” how David and Victoria treat her husband.
It’s rumoured that Nicola Peltz and Victoria Beckham “don’t get along”. TMZ was told Victoria feels as though Peltz stole “her precious son from her”.
At Nicola and Brooklyn’s wedding in 2022, Victoria interrupted the couple’s first dance by “running up to the dance floor and basically pushing Nicola away,” which apparently “left her in tears”.
Peltz did go on the record to squash these reports of “hiccups in their relationship.”
Furthermore, TMZ reports that David Beckham “verbally berates” Brooklyn on the phone, to which Victoria responds with a “loving text to show that he had not been screaming at him for an hour.”
Brooklyn and Nicola are “devastated” by the “performative” behaviour of David and Victoria, and feel as though they are using Peltz as a “scapegoat” rather than work through their “issues”.
Despite reported claims that David and Victoria Beckham are “toxic”, there are different reports that say otherwise.
TMZ reports that Brooklyn’s family is the “nicest” from reality television star Lexi Wood, linked to Brooklyn since 2018.
Brooklyn and Nicola have attempted to mend their relationship with Victoria and David many times, says TMZ.
So, what happened at David Beckham’s 50th birthday party?
At Beckham’s party, it was noted by TMZ that Brooklyn and Nicola didn’t attend the birthday party.
This led to further tension when Victoria Beckham posted on social media about the party, which excluded Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz.
An exclusive from TMZ explained that the two didn’t attend the party due to the current tension between Brooklyn (26) and his brother Romeo (22), who is currently dating Kim Turnbull, with whom Brooklyn had a “romantic connection” years ago, which is now “water under the bridge.”
This was the reason why the two didn’t attend the party.
The “issue at hand” is that Brooklyn and Nicola question whether Kim has the “right intentions” dating Romeo. TMZ was told that the couple won’t be present for any public family events in which Kim attends.
Although the two didn’t attend David’s 50th, Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz did fly out to London to celebrate Beckham’s birthday.
Sources told TMZ that the two “reached out” to their family, asking for a private “get-together” before the party.
Sources say the couple were told “to show up to the main celebrations or they wouldn’t get a chance to see the fam”.
So what is happening now?
Despite the tension, there is a desire to mend the relationship.
The Sun reveals that Beckham is “desperate to make amends” with his son.
A close friend of David Beckham said to The Sun:
“David and the family genuinely fear Brooklyn could be lost to them forever.”
“The word ‘lost’, here, is especially poignant as it was the exact sentiment used when David fell out with his dad.”
