CONFIRMED! There’s a New Belle in Town

She's getting ready to cast some more movie magic! Harry Potter star Emma Watson has been confirmed as the female lead for a live-action adaptation of the Disney classic Beauty and the Beast. Watson, 24, will play Belle in director Bill Condon's take on the classic tale. The script has been penned by Stephen Chbosky, who previously directed Watson in the screen adaptation of The Perks of Being Wallflower. The film is the latest in the Disney catalogue to get a live-action makeover, following last year's smash hit Maleficent and Kenneth Branagh's highly-anticipated take on Cinderella. Watson took to Facebook to share her delight at snagging the role, saying that her six-year-old self was "on the ceiling - heart busting".
