What an incredible achievement!
Podcasters Charleen Murphy and Ellie Kelly received the James Joyce Award from University College Dublin (UCD).
The university’s Literary and Historical Society awarded the duo, who host the ‘Hold My Drink’ podcast together, for their contribution to the ‘field of human endeavours’.
It is the highest award that an Irish university can give.
Other notable names to receive the James Joyce Award include writers Roddy Doyle and Seamus Heaney, as well as social media personality and TALA CEO, Grace Beverley.
The influencers expressed their gratitude to be awarded such an honour across their social medias.
“This award has been awarded to some HUGE names & I’m having major imposter syndrome. This is such an honour and like I said tonight the podcast has given me such a sense of purpose in my career & I’m so grateful to anyone who listens and supports us,” Charleen wrote.
“You can do anything you ever put your mind to.”
Meanwhile, Ellie wrote: “Thank you @ucdlnh for presenting myself & @charleenmurphy with the James Joyce award last night for @holdmydrinkpod. what an honour!
“To hear of the names before us who have also received this award is unbelievable & it now has its own place right in the middle of my kitchen.”
