‘Couldn’t be happier’ – Brian Dowling opens up about marriage on 9th anniversary

Brian Dowling and Arthur Gourounlian are celebrating their 9th anniversary

Brian opened up about the special celebration on his Instagram story this week and told his followers that he's never been happier.

He explained that he's known Arthur for nearly 22 years.

"This day nine years ago we got married at Powerscourt. Beautiful hotel; breakfast; champagne; all the bridesmaids; the hair; the make-up… today? Hair needs a wash; pyjamas and a cup of tea," Brian quipped.

Despite the change in his life, the dad-of-two said he couldn't be happier.

"You know what? Couldn’t be happier," he told his followers.

Reflecting on his relationship with Arthur, Brian said it's been a "mad ride".

"We have known each other nearly 22 years, and what a MAD RIDE it’s been. We have literally been through it all together, the good & the bad & we are absolutely stronger for it."

He continued: "Relationships aren’t easy & marriage takes hard work and dedication & it needs one person to be able to say “I’m sorry” first so you can move on. Clearly, that person is ALWAYS me."

Brian and Arthur recently welcomed their second child together. The couple are now parents to two daughters- Blake and Blu.

They were both born via surrogacy and Brian's sister Aoife was their surrogate both times.
