Boyband Star Dane Bowers Accused Of Assaulting Ex-Fiancé In Row Over Glitter On His Face

Boyband star Dane Bowers has appeared in court after being charged with violent assault against his former fiancé. The Another Level singer was engaged to former Miss Wales Sophia Cahill for a year before the pair split last December. The couple were sharing a house with Bowers' parents after their separation and Cahill has alleged that the 35-year-old assaulted her and left her with a bloody nose following a row in January. According to the Daily Mail, both Bowers and Cahill appeared at Croydon Magistrates Court today and the mother-of-two said that the incident took place after she asked him about glitter on his face. "I had caught him in bed with somebody (before) - that obviously gave us trust issues. We were still living together and we said that if we are still living under the same roof we would not do anything to disrespect each other and do anything with other people," she said. "He had been out all night and obviously I jumped to conclusions because of other things he has done in the past." Cahill has said that the singer was "really, really aggressive" and "just crazy", accusing him of squeezing her throat, pulling her hair and swearing at her during the attack. "There was blood everywhere from my nose. The first I remember of the blood was feeling it all over me and the floor. I only had nose surgery about six months before. He had hit me in it and I guess it was still healing. I was in pain." Bowers has denied the claims and took to Twitter this morning to thank his friends and family for their support.
