‘He’s amazing’ – Ariana Grande makes rare comment about boyfriend Ethan Slater

Ariana Grande briefly opened up about her relationship with Ethan Slater on Sean Hayes' Smartless podcast on Monday.

The pair have remained notoriously quiet about their life away from the cameras after being hit with major backlash over their relationship and its reported effect on their separate marriages.

However, speaking on February 3rd, Sean Hayes described his friend Ethan as "one of the nicest people you'll ever meet in your life."

He then told Ariana: "He did Good Night, Oscar with me in Chicago and then was on Wicked and now you guys are dating, and I love that because you guys make a perfect couple."

Ariana then responded saying: "Thank you. He's amazing and he loves you."

Although her comments on Slater were very brief, it's not the first time even friends have gushed about their romance in passing.

Life & Style reported that she was "madly in love" with the Broadway actor and that they fully plan to get married "when the time is right".

The insider told the publication back in December: "She's traditional, so unless something throws a wrench in things, everyone is expecting her to marry him next year so they can get to work on having babies."

Where it all began

Ariana and Ethan met while they were filming Wicked back in 2022. They were both married at the time to their now-former spouses, Dalton Gomez and Lilly Jay.

Despite both filing for divorce months before their romance was confirmed, they faced a lot backlash from fans about the timeline of their relationship.

After Wicked premiered in November of 2024, the pair began to be more public about their romance and are "happier than ever" according to sources.
