Not what we expected to be hearing this Sunday morning, but there you go.
Actress and comedian Amy Schumer has come out in support of Longford’s Maura Higgins – who is a contestant on Love Island – and described her as her “homie”.
The Hollywood star is a huge fan of the reality TV series and has now thrown her support behind the Longford model.
In a video message due to be broadcast on Sunday, Schumer said: “I’m loving this season of Love Island.
“I want to give a shout out to Maura. She’s just like my homie, I feel very connected to her.”
Higgins has caused quite a stir since her introduction into the Love Island villa a number of weeks ago and also caught the attention of Lena Dunham who stated she was on “Team Maura”.
Schumer’s message will be broadcast in full during Sunday’s Love Island: Aftersun at 10pm on ITV2.
