On August 25, 2001, Aaliyah and eight others were killed in a plane crash in the Bahamas after filming a music video for her upcoming single. At the time, her death sent shockwaves through the music industry. In such a short time, the Try Again singer had appeared in high budget Hollywood film ‘Romeo Must Die’, released three albums and won countless awards, including a Grammy for Best Female R&B Vocalist.
