Love is a strange old thing.

Sometimes couples get together that seem so perfectly in sync, that we can't help but think that they were meant to be. However, other times celebs can shock us with their seemingly unusual pairings. But as the saying goes, each to their own. Sometimes opposites really do attract and these celeb couples certainly prove it. Here's a list of our favourites. Ryan Seacrest and Adriana Lima After meeting at the Rio Olympics this year, Ryan and Adriana shocked us all when rumours began to circulate that they were dating. The couple posted a series of photographs of them dining out in New York last month but still haven't gone public with their romance. We think they make a cute pair.   Hayden Panettiere and Wladimir Klitschko The world was shocked when Nashville star Hayden Panettiere was first spotted with Ukrainian fighter Wladimir Klitschko. The pair both have very different careers (and heights) but they seem to be really smitten with each other.   Mary-Kate Olsen and Oliver Sarkozy Age clearly wasn’t an issue for Mary-Kate Olsen. The 30-year-old is married to French banker (and brother of the former French president) Olivier Sarkozy who is 47.   Chelsea Handler and 50 Cent We had no idea they were a couple either! But apparently, way back in 2010 the pair dated for a few months after meeting on Chelsea's show. They later split but continue to be good friends.   Katy Perry and Russell Brand Katy and Russell seemed like an unusual pairing when they first started dating in 2009. After a whirlwind romance, the pair tied the knot in 2010 but sadly later divorced in 2012.   Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Sam Taylor Johnson Aaron, 23 and Sam, 46 have been married since 2012. The pair have two children together and have previously stated that the age gap between them makes no difference. Fair play to them!   Brody Jenner and Avril Lavigne  The 'Sk8ter Boi' star and 'The Hills' protégé split up in 2012 after almost two years together. Brody is now engaged to Kaitlynn Carter.
