We all know the best part of getting any presents as a child was the hours of popping the bubble wrap after unpacking the toy from the box.
Now we’re feeling a little deflated that it’s all coming to an end.
According to the Wall Street Journal, Sealed Air have reinvented everyone's favourite popping past-time to act as a sheet of interconnected air pockets that shipping companies can fill themselves using air pumps.
The iBubble Wrap is apparently cheaper to make, cheaper to ship, and will take up one fiftieth of the space of regular (fun) bubble wrap.
So how does the new mechanism work?
Well instead of popping the plastic in bursts of good, clean fun, the air pockets will now deflate and move onto the next bubble neighbour in the row.
While we’re sure some boring people (okay commercial online shipping folk) might appreciate the new invention, we’ll never give up hope for our favourite childhood toy.Business
