Marissa Carter: ‘I made a BIG mistake…’ The Cocoa Brown product you’ve forgotten about

She's built an incredible tan empire with Cocoa Brown - which is now sold in dozens of countries globally.

However, Marissa Carter - who has recently launched a 103-product makeup range - this week reminded us of an oft-forgotten CB product... and one that she admits 'bombed' because the quality just wasn't good enough. Speaking on episode one of Carter Beauty: Behind The Brand - the exclusive six-part docu-series available on Her's Facebook, IGTV, and YouTube platforms - the 35-year-old entrepreneur states: "I made such a big mistake four years ago when I launched Cocoa Brown Lovely Legs." She continues: "It was a make-up for the legs and I launched it when I was not 100 percent happy with it.

"We had ordered 100,000 bottles to start. And everyone was putting me under so much pressure to just get the product out and not to wait any longer.

"So I pushed the button on production, I said ‘OK let’s go, we’ll go ahead’ and I wasn’t happy with the quality of the product. "And it came out… and it bombed. And I really, really worried that that one really bad mistake would tarnish my reputation."

Carter Beauty Behind The Brand follows Marissa as she prepares to launch her most ambitious project yet: Carter Beauty Cosmetics. The affordable range (it all comes in under €15) includes a jet black gel liner (€4.95) and high pigment eyeshadow palettes (€14.95), as well as colour-pop matte lipsticks (€6.95).
