Villain makeup is the newest beauty trend to dominate TikTok

Jody Coffey

Another day, another makeup trend.

Do you want to embrace your inner female fatale? Well, this sultry and seductive beauty trend could not have landed at a better time, especially with Halloween on the horizon.

Villain makeup is one of the more edgy makeup trends when compared to earlier popular beauty looks such as Strawberry Girl makeup and Latte Makeup.

With over 24 million TikTok views on the darker, more mysterious trend, it seems this one will continue to dominate our makeup bags as we head into the cooler months.

This trend is all about stepping into the shoes of our favourite antagonists and grabbing that main character energy with both hands.

Inspired by the painted faces and captivating sex appeal of Angelina Jolie in Maleficent, the Mistress of evil, and Poison Ivy from Batman, the trend focuses on extenuating the cheekbones, brows, eyes, and lips.

Straight, high, and pointed arches for the brows—similar to those of fox brows—are one of the key markers to meet when awakening your villain era.

Next, you’ll want to do a deep dive into ‘siren eyes,‘ which already had its moment on TikTok with 1.4 billion users rushing to find out more about the trend. Learning a cat flick is crucial to achieving this trend’s vibe and letting it extend outside of the eye as well as inside.

Finishing it up with some metallic or charcoal pigments will complete your villain’s makeup.

Contouring your cheekbones is essential for bringing out that sinister antagonist energy, as is a deep pop of colour on the lips to tie the fierce look together.

A killer red lip is one that many on TikTok are opting for to bring out the bad girl within.

The best part? The look can be achieved with products the majority of us have lying around in our makeup bags already, and it just goes to show that a little bit of eyeliner can go a hell of a long way.
