Introducing a new skincare product into your routine when you're in your thirties is not as simple as it was when you were 16.
At 16, you'd happily scrub your makeup off with a wipe, lob some Sudocrem on the odd spot you had, and call it a day.
However, we now have to grapple with our ever-changing skin, which seems to get more irritable as we age.
I've been trying to heal my acne for quite some time, but continue to experience flare-ups when I'm stressed or if my hormones feel like causing havoc.
I believe I found the perfect routine that kept most of the acne at bay, or even helped ease some of it. I've accepted that I will never have completely clear skin, but it has improved, and sometimes that's all we can ask for when we have acne.
Now that it has somewhat cleared up, I've been trying the odd new product, mainly because I feel like my skin can now tolerate it.
One Irish beauty brand has been calling my name for some time, and that is Sculpted by Aimee.
I recently treated myself to the Sculpted by Aimee advent calendar, which comes with a giant tub of the brand's famous CloudCream.
The Ceramide-rich cream helps soothe, strengthen, and repair dehydrated or sensitised skin.
It is a lightweight yet deeply hydrating formula that restores your skin’s natural barrier, locking in moisture for long-lasting comfort. The cream leaves your complexion plump and soft as velvet.
A lot of the products I use to target my acne can be incredibly harsh, especially with most being medical products as opposed to cosmetic ones. This means my skin is often in some dire need of hydration. Anyone with acne knows just how drying most of the treatments can be, so CloudCream has given my skin a well-needed boost.
However, the product is incredibly rich and contains Shea Butter, which may be too much for those with oily skin.

CloudCream contains ceramides, which benefit acne-prone skin because of their ability to strengthen the skin's protective barrier.
If you have dry or sensitised skin, then CloudCream is the perfect product for you, especially as we enter the winter months.
The Sculpted by Aimee team says people with oily skin should only use the product in the evening to help restore hydration as you snooze.
I'd echo their advice as I feel like this is a product I'd use once a week as more of a treatment, but that's just because my oily, acne-prone skin won't tolerate it as well as those with balanced or dry skin.
There's no doubt CloudCream is one of the best moisturisers on the market at the moment, with the Sculpted by Aimee team revealing it as one of the brand's top sellers.
