Charlotte Tilbury reveals most important make-up hack – and everyone can do it

All hail Charlotte Tilbury!

The 50-year-old sat down with British Vogue this week and revealed some of her incredible tips and tricks - as well as some of her qualms within the industry.

One comment that stood out was her ‘most transformative’ makeup tip, and her answer is so simple it can be used by anyone to improve their final look.

She said skin prep is everything because you need to have the perfect canvas in order to get the most out of your products.

The icon said: “I always say you can’t have a beautiful painting without a beautiful canvas. No matter where I am or who I’m getting ready, I always start by prepping the skin.”

The makeup expert also touched on a number of other tips during the interview, including what order we should be doing our makeup in.

There is always a debate over whether or not we should complete our eye makeup before jumping into foundation, however, Charlotte says:

“Unless you’re doing a black smoky eye, always start with foundation.”

When asked how a person can feel more put together she simply recommended: “My Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk lipstick is happiness in a tube.”

Tilbury also hinted at a new fragrance coming down the line when speaking to the magazine. After being asked what her ‘signature scent’ is, she responded by simply saying: “Watch this space…”
