What an incredible gesture.

Planning a wedding can be difficult at the best of times – throw in the current Covid-19 crisis and you’ve got yourself an event riddled with uncertainty, anxiety, and a lot of financial strain.

If only there was a way to take the stress out of wedding planning, have everything sorted for you, and raise a bit of money for charity in the process.

Well, looks like there might just be because celebrity chef Richard Corrigan is offering one frontline healthcare worker in Ireland the chance to win a wedding package worth €90,000.

The package will accommodate up to 160 guests at his 18th century Co Cavan Virginia Park Lodge estate, is all-inclusive, and will be available for booking until April 2022.

Corrigan’s Vow to the Frontline prinze will include a menu designed by Corrigan, wedding planning by Elegant Events’ Collette O’Leary, make up by Michelle Field and Paula Callan, hair by Norma Jean, and photography by Dasha Caffrey.

A wedding cake will be designed by Cove Cake Design, flowers will come from Joeanna Caffrey Flowers, and invitations will be from Appleberry Press.

Honestly, what an incredible way to give back.

Wedding planner O’Leary says that the incredible prize is a win for all involved.

“Winning a prize like this means no stress,” she says. “Everything is planned and sorted for you at the same time raising much needed funds for St Vincent De Paul.

“Your venue Virginia Park Lodge  is a 5 star property and your wedding will be catered by celebrity chef Richard Corrigan. The couple will have the top suppliers in the country donating their services for free. It is a win win for everybody all round.

“It is a way for us in the wedding industry to give back to frontline workers who have worked tirelessly to save our communities during this pandemic as well as raising the funds which will be needed when all this is over.”

Applications for the prize are a two step process. First, you must nominate the frontline worker (who is engaged and currently in Ireland) who you think deserves to win, before making a €10 donation to St Vincent de Paul.

Five entries will be shortlisted at random before the president of SVP selects a winner. The more entires, the better chance your nominee has at winning.

Nominations open from today (May 27) and will remain so for two months.
