Did Georgia Steel break a major wedding guest rule?
Trying to find a perfect outfit as a wedding guest can be incredibly tricky, especially when you’re attending half a dozen weddings per year.
We’re trying to remain sustainable while sticking to our own personal style, but that can be nearly impossible at times.
We’ve all had the pre-wedding meltdown when we look in our wardrobes and hate absolutely every single item we own.
However, we all know what protocols to follow when it comes to wedding guest style, and there’s one colour you should never wear to someone’s big day.
Wearing white to a wedding has long been a big no-no, but Georgia Steel recently came under fire over what she wore to Dani Dyer’s wedding.
The influencers have been friends since their Love Island days and remained close following the end of the series.
So much so that Georgia was invited to Dani’s big day on May 31st.
Her lavish wedding day has been all over our social feeds, but some people were less than impressed with Georgia’s dress.
The influencer wore a butter yellow gúna for her friend’s big day, but it veered a little too close to the white side.
Georgia was called out by users on TikTok, with many saying she made a major faux pas.
One wrote, “You wore an off white to a wedding. No, just no.”
Another said, “If there’s a lot of discussion around a dress being white or not, it’s not appropriate for a wedding. Simple.”
“Girl, you are not wearing that colour to a wedding. As a recent bride, I would be soooo sad if a guest wore that.”
But was she really in the wrong?
Many people defended the star and said her dress was completely harmless.
One wrote, “Look at the purse. That’s white. Her dress is a pale yellow. And I’m sure the bride (assuming it’s Dani Dyer), didn’t care. Lots of brides wouldn’t. If you would, that’s okay.”
Another said: “It’s pale yellow, not white, and if you look at the rest of the wedding guests, most of the ladies are in pastel colours, so I’m guessing that was the theme.”
Would you be bothered if someone wore a dress like Georgia’s to your wedding?
