Whoever said you won’t get rich just sitting around is about to learn a serious lesson.
Three college roommates , Reese Werkhoven, Callie Guasti and Lara Russo who bought a second-hand couch in a Salvation Army shop in New York were surprised when they found more than $40,000 hidden in the lining of the furniture.
The trio told reporters how they started feeling crinkles in the couch’s pillows, and after opening them up, discovered an envelope stashing the cash.
The envelope also had a woman’s name on it, which the three used to track down the original owner of the couch. The anonymous woman told them she believes her late-husband was looking down on her to be so lucky as to retrieve her life savings.
The grateful owner later gave the students $1,000 to thank them for their honesty.
Talk about doing a good deed for the day.
