At the moment she has her heart set on being a doctor, but four-year-old Abby may have a career in law enforcement ahead of her.
The young ‘superhero’ helped detectives crack a case earlier this week, pointing the finger at her babysitter for a staged robbery.
Police in Ferndale, Washington, where Abby lives, said the girl’s 17-year-old babysitter planned and executed a faked “home invasion” with her boyfriend and another friend.
After they made away with assorted items from Abby’s house, they told police they had seen two armed black men breaking into the home, suggesting that one bore a close resemblance to neighbour Cody Oakes. Oakes was handcuffed by police and interviewed at the scene.
Abby intervened, telling authorities that the robbers were actually white, not black. Under questioning, the babysitter broke down and admitted all. She had given her boyfriend and another friend a list of the items she wanted from the family home, and then let them in.
The names of the babysitter and her boyfriend have not been released because they are under 18, but they now face charges of second-degree robbery.
