We consider ourselves mascara gurus here at Her.ie and until we found this bad boy, we were always on the lookout for the latest wonder product to quench our insatiable new mascara thirst! But then Clinique’s High Impact Extreme Volume Mascara came along and ever since we’ve been a one mascara girl.
Clinique has a solid mascara reputation and previous products have made our beauty bag edit in the past but from the first sweep of their latest and most impressive product to date we were hooked.
The recipe for the perfect mascara is in our opinion made up of two things – the first is the brush and the second is how liquid the actual mascara is.
Clinique High Impact Extreme Volume Mascara, €21
The brush:
If you’re usually put off by slightly chubby mascara wands then don’t let this one fool you – it’s a little on the chubby side but the short, fine bristles make for super easy application and we can almost guarantee you won’t experience any clumps or lumps sticking to your eyelashes.
The mascara:
The wetter the better is our mantra when it comes to the black stuff! Anything too dry will end up clumping and won’t cover your lashes properly resulting in smudges and the dreaded panda eye effect come five o’clock. Clinique’s glossy formula’s sweeps through lashes and is easy to manipulate so it’s perfect if you like to apply more than two coats on a night out but is equally effective as one coat.
And at €21 it’s also much cheaper than a lot of other high-end department store brands. But to be honest, we’d probably pay more for it – it’s just that good!
