Mother Appears In Court Charged With The Murder Of Her Three Children

Her

Tania Clarence has appeared in court today after being charged with the murder of her three disabled children.

The 42-year-old wept on the dock as she was accused of three counts of murder for killing her four-year-old daughter, Olivia, and three-year-old twin sons, Ben and Max, at their family home in New Malden, south London.

Metropolitan police were called to the five-bedroom home on Tuesday night where they discovered the bodies of the children.

All three of the young kids suffered from a spinal muscular atrophy, a genetic condition also known as floppy baby syndrome that shortens life expectancy considerably.

According The Independent the devastated father, Gary Clarence, broke down as he watched the proceedings from the gallery.

The 43-year-old is said to have been visiting the couples’ native South Africa with their eldest daughter when the deaths took place.

No formal plea was entered in court. Ms Clarence was remanded in custody with a preliminary hearing scheduled for May 9th.
