Want a man in your life to smell amazing? It’ll cost you… less than a fiver.
That’s the message for bargain hunters from supermarket chain Lidl, as their brand new male fragrance comes to market.
Retailing at €3.99 for a 50ml bottle, G. Bellini X-Bolt rated higher in a blind test of 108 consumers than leading fragrances David Beckham Homme, Dior Homme, D&G The One and Hugo Boss Bottled.
On average, Lidl’s own label fragrance scored an average of 6.2 out of ten with testers, while Beckham scored 4.8, Dior 5, and D&G and Boss scored 5.6.
G. Bellini X-Bolt was described as “expensive smelling”, with a “fresh masculine fragrance”.
Lidl spokesperson Aoife Clarke, said of the findings: “We had the most incredible response to our female fragrance when we launched that last year so we knew we had to create something really special that would blow people away again. We’ve definitely achieved that with the X-Bolt and we predict it will fly off the shelves when it hits stores in November.”
Popular female fragrance Madame Glamour is also back in stores while stocks last, and this year the female fragrance will also be available in a gift pack.
Madame Glamour was a huge hit with Irish women last year
Both fragrances are available this week.
So, would you wear a fragrance that set you back less than a fiver, and would you buy one for a man in your life?
