A Boy And His Dog – The Relationship Between Owen And Haatchi Is Incredibly Special

Just LOOK at them!

Cathy Donohue

7-year-old Owen Hopkins has Schwartz-Jampel, a condition that leaves his muscles constantly tense.

This means he is often shy and wary about connecting with others, especially for the first time.

When Haatchi was a puppy, he was found tied to railroad tracks. One of his legs was terribly mangled, so it had to be amputated.

As soon as three-legged Italian shepherd Haatchi and Owen met, they instantly bonded and became special friends, winning first place in the Friends for Life category at Crufts Dog Show.

Owen is now more comfortable when talking to new people, while his loyal friend is happy to have a constant companion.

Not only that, their story has been made into a book and Haatchi is to receive an award from the International Fund for Animal Welfare at the House of Lords next week.

The video below was made by the University of Hertfordshire about the incredible bond between these two.

Take it from us, it’s definitely one to brighten up a blue Monday!
