The worst passwords used in 2018 have been revealed

If your password is on this list, we reckon it is time to change it.

Many of us know that there are some passwords that you just shouldn't be using - mostly the ones that are too common, too obvious or just way too easy to guess. Really, it is just a great idea to stick with the more obscure ones. However, even with an ever-increasing number of data breaches, it turns out that some people still haven't learned and continue to use some very easy to guess passwords for their online accounts. Anyways, a list of the worst passwords used in 2018 has been put together - and it's got a lot of the usual suspects. The list has been put together by SplashData after they analysed leaked passwords from users.   And yes, 'password' makes the list. Morgan Slain, CEO of SplashData, Inc, said:

 “Hackers have great success using celebrity names, terms from pop culture and sports, and simple keyboard patterns to break into accounts online because they know so many people are using those easy-to- remember combinations. “Our hope by publishing this list each year is to convince people to take steps to protect themselves online. “It’s a real head-scratcher that with all the risks known, and with so many highly publicized hacks such as Marriott and the National Republican Congressional Committee, that people continue putting themselves at such risk year-after-year.”
