Recording videos at concerts is going to change in a massive way for Apple users

Taking pictures and videos may become a thing of the past...

There’s nothing worse than having your view blocked at a gig.

After waiting months, weeks and days to see a hotly anticipated singer or band perform, it’s one of the worst things not being able to see the stage.

Whether it’s due to a taller person in front of you or someone apparently filming the entire concert on their phone, it’s extremely irksome to be distracted while watching a show.

It’s good and bad news for many then that Apple have decided to stop their customers recording at concerts and live gigs.

For those of us taking clips for social media sites or even just for personal memories, Apple have brought out a patent that will stop people taking images and videos at live events.

According to Fortunethe idea is to create a system whereby infrared signals in the phone or tablet will correspond with the transmitters already present at concerts. The signals will have data encoded which will disable the recording function.

Concert organisers and promoters will be able to stop people recording at events by simply installing the transmitter at stadiums, halls and venues.

Considering how frustrating it must be for many performers to have people recording their show, it comes as seriously welcome news.
