Zara is launching its first ever lingerie collection – here’s what caught our eye

Anna Rourke

It feels like Zara should always have had a lingerie line, right?

We’ve always shopped the brand but somehow we were still surprised when we learned that Zara is soon set to launch its first ever underwear collection.

Now we’ve had a look at what’s on offer, we doubt it’ll be its last.

The collection, titled ‘The Female Gaze’, is just what you’d expect from Zara; pretty, understated pieces in neutral colours that look dearer than they actually are.

It includes bras, knickers, pyjamas, shapewear and loungewear that wouldn’t look out of place alongside designer underwear in a Vogue magazine spread.

That’s not to say that Zara has gotten it completely right. Just like with its clothing, the lingerie’s sizing is very limited and the collection’s campaign imagery, though beautiful, only features slim models. In 2020, there’s no excuse for a crazy-successful international retailer to only cater to one body type.

Of all 158 pieces in the collection, here are the ones that caught our eye.

Satin bralette, €19.95

Satin briefs, €19.95

Silk nightie, €159

Silk cami top, €59.95

Silk shorts, €49.95

Bra with flower detail, €19.95

Silk nightie, €89.95
