Well-Heeled: Amy Huberman Launches Her Own Shoe Collection…But She’s Not Imelda Marcos…

Is there anything Amy Huberman can't do? Apparently not as she prepares to take the fashion world by storm...

If we could pick any Irish celeb to be our new BFF, we’d pick Amy Huberman. Why? Well for starter’s she a right laugh – have you checked out her Twitter feed? Secondly, the girl’s got style.

And, finally, she’s a bit of a dirt bird, but in the best way possible (how hilarious is she in Threesome? Seriously).

Another thing we love about Amy is the fact that she’s an independent woman. She’s always out doing her own thing and we are pretty excited about her latest venture.

The Irish Independent reports that Amy is gearing up to launch her own shoe collection. Yes, really.

“I’m not an Imelda Marcos,” she said.

Fair enough, but we’re suitably impressed with the single taster that was rolled out to shops last week. The sole (hah!) product is a high-top leather wedge boot called the “American Beauty” and it’s available in three shades.

Think of it as a pre-launch taster, because the rest of Amy’s collection for the Bourbon label, will feature 15-20 different styles and will be available for spring/summer 2013.

Amy’s full collection will be available for spring/summer 2013.

Amy is collaborating with Jim and Barry McArdle from Castleblayney in county Monaghan, the two brothers who are also behind Tommy Bowe’s Lloyd & Pryce men’s footwear range.

“We are just dipping our toe into the market with the ankle boot. I am hugely interested in fashion and shoes, but I’m not a girl who has a million pairs of shoes, definitely not,” said Amy speaking yesterday.

She described the collaboration as “exciting” and something herself and the McArdle brothers are “looking forward to exploring together.”

“Amy’s boots are flying out the door and we’ve had re-orders which is very unusual at this time of the year because it is not a sale item,” said Jim McArdle.

Aside from launching a shoe collection, Amy is currently finishing off her second novel, which will hit bookshop shelves this autumn.
