THERE SHE IS follows two best friends Allison Kopach and Jenny Flores,as they prepare for and compete in the 2011 American Beauties Plus Pageant. Through their preparation for the event, the pair reveal how they feel about the pageant scene and their feelings on being plus-size entrants.

The documentary revisits the pair in 2012 a year after the pageant and explores how things have changed within a year.

Some sections of the interviews are genuinely heartbreaking and this really opens up an interesting discussion about whether beauty has a "limited definition".
