Posh Spice has sent shoppers wild for her boyfriend shirt in the Beckham Netflix docu-series.
The white shirt style has been a staple for quite some time now, but just as we thought it might have begun to fizzle out, enter the Victoria Beckham effect.
During her appearance in the new four-part Netflix series, Victoria chose to don an oversized white shirt during her at-home interviews.
Since the show aired, retailers have been reporting a huge increase in the number of people wearing the chic casual trend.
A spokesperson for John Lewis told the Guardian that sales of its relaxed cotton white shirt had quadrupled week on week.
Meanwhile, the creative director at Jigsaw, Jo Sykes, said: “For years we were trying to persuade customers to try a larger and more ‘manly’ type of shirt.
“Now we can’t keep hold of them.”
