Trend Spend: Irish/Swedish Fashion Fix with Gorgeous Timepieces from Ansley Watch Co.

'Scandinavian Heart, Irish Blood’

Rebecca McKnight

If we confessed to having had one or two wonderful ideas over a glass of whiskey, we suspect you may not be surprised and may even remember some epic plans of your own, hitched over a snifter or two.

The problem is that in the cold light of day, we so rarely follow through, and the great idea never comes to fruition.

Thankfully, that was not the case when an Irish entrepreneur and a Swedish fashion designer met in the summer of 2012.

The pair shared a chat over a glass of single malt, which turned into a second, (and so on, as such drinks are wont to do).

Discovering a shared love for vintage watches, the designer and entrepreneur decided they simply must create their own line.

And so, Ansley Watch Co. was born: ‘Scandinavian Heart, Irish Blood’.

The watches are made from the finest quality stainless steel and sapphire glass, along with Swiss and Japanese Quartz.

The unisex, vintage-inspired designs have a timeless elegance to them, and Her.ie’s fashion desk has quickly become ever so slightly obsessed.

There are currently two collections in the Ansley range, The Army Series and The Sailor Series.

Ansley Rose Gold Ion Case, Clove Rock Sailor Strap €169.00

Ansley Stainless Steel Case, Black Army Issue Woven Strap €169.00

Ansley Rose gold Ion Case, Tan Leather Strap €169.00

Ansley Rose Gold Ion Case, Black Woven Army Issue Strap €169.00

Ansley Rose Gold Ion case, Navy/Red/White Striped Sailor Strap €169.00

All Ansley watches have interchangeable straps, which can be updated every season or changed daily to suit your mood.

The Ansley designs will soon be available online, for now you can check stockists on the official website here.

And if anyone is asking, we’d like the rose gold ion face and leather strap combo as an early Christmas present. Please and thank you.
