Where once a summer filled with weddings stretched out before us, now we have none to look forward to.
Well, not in the immediate future anyway. Thankfully, however, lots of the couples that we know have postponed their celebration rather than cancelling them outright. So, all things going well, it will be an autumn choc full of wedding celebrations.
And after months of staying at home, they are going to be seriously BIG days out. Where once upon a time we might have grumbled a bit about all of the expense and fuss that goes into being a wedding guest – anyone in the ‘wedding zone’ will know how expensive they can be – now we’re looking forward to going all out for every occasion.
Tan, nails, up-do, make-up, maybe even a hat. We’ll take the works. Plus a bottle of Champagne.
With those times in mind, the stunning dress from Zara caught our attention. Newly arrived on the store’s site, it’s part of a limited-edition collection with a relaxed, boho feel.
The blush pink dress is ankle length with a full sleeve, that closes with covered buttons. The back has a keyhole cut out at the neckline.
There are delicate flowers embroidered throughout and picked up in beautiful pewter beading. The flowing fabric has a rough cut finish, however, to add some edge that makes the overall feel more stylish than sweet.
Elegant but comfortable, we reckon this is the perfect look or a wedding: swap out your heels (and your support pants) after dinner and you’ll be able to dance the night away in comfort.
As it’s a limited-edition piece – and a heavily beaded one at that – the dress is on the upper end of Zara’s usual price range: it costs €159 and can be bought here. That may understandably be too steep for some, but if finances allow it’s an investment piece that can be worn again and again for years.
