Stella McCartney reveals why Meghan asked her to make her second wedding dress

"She is not a difficult client to make look beautiful."

It was one of the biggest wedding dress moments of the year - and it didn't disappoint. When Meghan Markle stepped out at Windsor Castle with new husband Prince Harry, she looked every inch the Hollywood star in a simple but stunning ivory halter neck gown. The designer was Stella McCartney, who has revealed that Meghan chose her to design a dress for her evening wedding reception because she's a "woman's woman." Stella told Elle that while she has had to approach big stars like Gwyneth Paltrow and Madonna in the past, Meghan came to her and that she was honoured. She "approached me and we worked on other things. She wore other pieces of mine and we had a friendship. And then she asked me to do her second wedding dress. "I was honoured and I still am," she continued. "I think Meghan chose me for reasons other than just a beautiful dress — plenty of people can do that. She is not a difficult client to make look beautiful. "Obviously I am a British designer, but I think being a woman and being a women’s woman played a part. It’s a big deal."
