Six Underwear Essentials

Whether you spend an absolute fortune on lacy, racy creations or the bare minimum on absolute basics, a decent underwear wardrobe is an absolute necessity for any girl. Whatever your budget, there are a few key essentials that alongside basic briefs should be in every woman’s collection.

The Everyday Bra

A functional bra in the correct size with decent support is an absolute essential for everyday wear. Choose a contour bra that prevents any nipple showing through, and a colour as close to your skin tone will take you much further than a black or white choice.

The Strapless Bra

There is no such thing as ‘invisible straps’. They can be seen, and they look gaudy and tacky. If you want to go with a strapless style of dress, then you need a decent strapless bra. Go for one of the many convertible styles on the market to get more value from your buy, as these can be used as racer back and halter also.

The Thong 

Like dental floss for your backside, we can’t say we’re huge fans for the thong, but it must be admitted that it does serve a purpose. *Not* to be worn on show with low-rise jeans, but keep one in the drawer for the occasions when your outfit choice might mean VPL.

The Control Wear 

Those ‘magic’ knickers that make your bulges all but disappear when you decide to wear your most unforgiving dress. We love shapewear, even if sometimes it gets a little hard to breathe… Depending on the area you are most concerned about there are different styles on the market to target your problem zone. 

Flesh Coloured Tights

Yes, so granny and mammy are still fans – but so is Kate Middleton! A decent pair of skin coloured tights can be an absolute Godsend when you’re out of time to shave or tan and you need a little help to make your legs look lovely.

Black Tights

If we ever had to get through a winter without our trusty black tights we’re pretty sure there would be breakdowns all round. Slimming, warm, and always stylish they take us right through the winter when paired with dresses and our favourite boots.
