We guarantee that you will have committed at least one of the following seductive style sins at least once in your life… because we certainly have!
- Buying a piece of clothing that is too big or small for you is one of the most common style sins. First and foremost, it isn’t a flattering look. When clothes are too small they will make even the smallest shapes look big. Worse still big clothes hide your gorgeous shape which is equally terrible. As if that’s not bad enough, chances are the clothes will never fit you which means you’ve wasted your time and money. So make sure the pieces fit you properly and remember that your size can vary between shops. It’s not that you’ve put on or lost weight by walking from one shop to the other.
- If there is one sin that every woman should avoid it is getting something to encourage weight loss. You have most likely heard friends saying this or you yourself may have uttered the words “I bought it in the hope that I’ll lose so many pounds before I have to wear it.” Not only might this not happen but it puts unnecessary pressure on you to lose weight which isn’t healthy.
- So your friend meets you for a catch-up and she’s wearing a fabulous outfit that you wouldn’t mind imitating. There’s nothing wrong with trying this but unless your friend is a carbon copy of your shape it might not suit you as much as it does her. It’s the same when you spot your favourite celebrity wearing something you like. Blindly copying a friend or celebrity’s outfit is asking for trouble. Be honest and ask someone else’s opinion. If it suits you, great. If it doesn’t then it’s just one of those things. Trust us, there will be plenty of stuff you can wear that she can’t.
- Arguably the most common fashion mistake is following fashion trends that don’t suit you. Just because something is big in the world of style doesn’t mean that it will flatter your shape or style. And by the way it’s not that your body is odd, it’s just that certain trends suit some people and don’t suit others. It’s about learning what trends suit you and making the most of this. Besides this way everyone is unique and looks different. Variety is the spice of life after all!
- Taking something that requires another purchase is not only a fashion sin but it isn’t economical. There are exceptions of course. For example if it’s a special occasion or you win the lottery. In general, it’s best to avoid getting something that requires a second or third purchase. It means you will only be able to wear the two items together and will end up in you spending more of your hard-earned cash.
So the next time you’re tempted by one of these seductive style sins put down the hanger, step away from the railing and run out of the shop. If you’re like us you’ll probably go into the next one but fingers crossed you’ll end up walking away with something much more suitable to your fabulous figure.
