Rihanna Steals The Show At Fashion Awards With Sheer Gown

As well as collecting the Fashion Icon prize at yesterday’s Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards, Rihanna also stole the show on the red carpet (although we’re not sure if it was in a good or bad way). The singer opted for a sheer gown embellished with Swarovski crystals which left very little to the imagination and ensured that all eyes were on her. Rihanna's dress was rather revealing but ensured that people were talking about her. During her acceptance speech later that evening, Rihanna explained: “I grew up in a really small island and I didn’t have a lot of access to fashion but as far as I can remember, fashion has always been a defence mechanism. “I remember thinking ‘she can beat me, but not my outfit’”. (Perhaps this is why she chose such a daring dress for the occasion.) Other celebrities who were at the event included Emmy Rossum, Blake Lively, Olivia Wilde and the Olsen twins.
